After almost two years of preparation and hard work, the Rollins Community raised more than $35,300 for Greater Orlando Children's Miracle Network at Rollins' first-ever Dance Marathon. About 170 members of the Rollins community participated in the November 10 event which included 12 hours of non-stop dancing, entertainment, food and games. The effort to stay up for an extended period of time with constant movement symbolized the physical and mental struggle faced daily by children with terminal or critical illnesses.
Rollins College's Dance Marathon Executive Board spent over a year promoting the event on the Rollins campus and throughout the Winter Park community. Board members engaged numerous organizations and businesses, resulting in an outstanding amount of support and fundraising. Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity was the winner of the overall "Miracle Cup" based on its involvement with dancers, fund-raising, participation and spirit. Chi Omega won the top spirit award and Kappa Delta won the top fund-raising award.
CONGRATULATIONS Rollins College! Thank you for your continued dedication and support.
